Creating a Small Play Space

Budget: $1,000

This client moved into an old Victorian that didn’t have a dedicated playroom or finished basement to convert into a play space. With limited options upstairs, we decided to convert the rarely used entryway into a play space. The goal was to create a central location for the kids’ toys, so the first floor was no longer overflowing with clutter. We added a small table & chairs for the kids to do projects and a storage unit with a little reading nook spot (not shown: the custom bench cushion & chalkboard we hung later on). In addition, we added a console and hooks so guests can still put their stuff down when entering the house.
